On This Day
On this day in history:
1. 1874 - Hawaii signed a treaty giving exclusive trading rights with the islands to the U.S.
2. 1850 – Henry Wells & William Fargo founded American Express.
3. 1881 – Barnum and Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth opened in Madison Square Gardens.
4. 1905 - Franklin Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt were married.
5. 1961 – The Poppin’ Fresh Pillsbury Dough Boy was introduced.
6. Finally, in 1941 on this day in history, one of the hottest R&B/soul artist of all time was born. I was a huge Wilson Pickett fan in my early pre-teen and teen years. Especially his “In The Midnight Hour”. Who remembers this song?

Cool list of date trivia! And I LOVES me some Wilson Picket!

I kinda like the dough boy too, Nooter. He’s tasty.
Well, I wasn’t around when it came out, but I’m a huge fan of old music, and it’s a great song. Pickett was a great singer. Way ahead of his time.
